1990 Poster

 My 1990 TMNT movie poster that I won at the Jersey state fair 31 years ago is now hanging on my son's bedroom wall. The torch has been passed!!

TMNT Ads in TMNT Magazine!

One of the great thrills of growing up in the 80's/90's was that every great cartoon had it's own magazine. From He-Man to Garfield to The Real Ghostbusters had their own magazine. It was such a feeling of joy to go to the mail box, or P.O. Box in my case, and pull out a the new month's magazine. This is a joy that sadly kids these days will not be able to have. Anyway, when I was growing up one of the magazine subscriptions my Mom did allow us to have was for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Magazine! We had a subscription for a few years starting with issue #1. 

When I saw a recent ebay auction from the collection of Gary Richardson, CEO of Mirage Publishing, pop up with several of these TMNT Magazine issues, I put in a low bid amount and actually ended up winning! It was incredible to flip through these issues after all these decades. They had posters, exclusive TMNT comics, feature stories and of course ads! What better way to sell TMNT items then in a TMNT magazine. Today I would like to share a few of these ads with you in the hopes that stirs up those good feelings from back in the day. ENJOY!

Father's Day 2021

 Kids got me a TMNT arcade stool for Father's Day and my youngest daughter painted this rock that says "Your Turtly Awesome"! Not a bad way to start the day!!!

Discontinued TMNT Candy I Want Back!

I don't know about you but there are just certain things in life that can bring back strong nostalgia and make those memories of the good old days flood back to you. Certain smells, beats & lyrics from a favorite song or tastes of a favorite food or drink can make those good times come back if not only for a quick minute. For me certain candies can transport me back to my childhood in the 80's & 90's. Fortunately for us, a lot of those candies are still around, but in some instances they have been discontinued and we will never experience them again! If I owned my own candy company, these are the sugary TMNT treats I would like to revive...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ooze Squeeze Candy

I remember getting a tube of this candy from the KB Toys store in the Rockaway Mall in Rockaway, NJ. I remember it being at the front counter where we were paying for a toy, probably a Ninja Turtle action figure. I picked one up and was not disappointed by the flavor. I believe it was supposed to be a watermelon type of goo? This candy was the perfect tie in to the ultra popular movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze! Now I know Hubba Bubba makes a similar squeeze candy today, but once again our green heroes and nostalgia has made this version the best squeeze candy ever created by man...at least in my mind.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutagen Candy Chew

That title is a mouthful, but these things were delicious! These Mutagen bars were neon green colored and had the consistency of taffy with a lime flavor to it. These were once again released around the same time as the TMNT movies were hitting theaters during the height of Turtlemania! I believe this was another KB Toys front register impulse buy. Why haven't more candy companies taken advantage of the TMNT Ooze connection. I would buy those like crazy!

Flash Gun!

 After over 30 years I finally snagged one of these Ninja Turtle Flash Guns!!! I love the artwork on this packaging. Reminds me of the TMNT stickers me & my brother used to collect!!!

Comic Pick Ups 6/9/21
