 Dinner is finished and now we are ready for our second viewing of the Rise of the TMNT movie on Netflix!

Rise of the TMNT: The Movie!

 WOW! That Rise of the TMNT movie was fantastic! My daughter says "It was a heartfelt movie, but also very good!"

Free Comic Book Day 2022!

 What a great FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!! Got some free comics, McDonald's for lunch and a showing of the original TMNT movie at a local theater!!! Can't wait for next year!!!

We Wish You A Turtle Christmas

 Finally watched "We Wish You A Turtle Christmas" with the kids for the first time. It was so bad that they loved it! I have heard "Gotta Get A Gift For Splinter" over and over since then!!

Turtles II Turns 30!

 30 years ago, my favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, The Secret of the Ooze debuted in theaters!

Turtles at Pizza Hut

I was hyped for this movie! I didn't care for the redesign of the TMNT, but I was optimistic that the story would make up for that. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the movie. By far not my favorite, but not my most hated. Plus it gave us some tasty Pizza Hut pizza options!

Coming Out of Their Shells!

In a surprise move the Turtles are back for a one night only encore! Almost forgot to have my kids watch the "Coming Out of Their Shells" tour on VHS!

Anime Turtles

It's the final night of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie marathon. We will be viewing this TMNT Anime movie tonight. It's been a long time since I've watched it. Any ideas for more TMNT movies we could watch this week? Let me know!

Blast To The Past

Winding down the TMNT movie/specials marathon this week. Today we have the Half-shell Heroes: Blast To The Past animated special on the docket. Would have been cool if they did a follow up considering the cliffhanger at the end.

Turtles Forever

Batman vs. TMNT was AWESOME! Now on to the Turtles Forever special tonight! The marathon is almost over!

Batman/TMNT

Watched both Michael Bay Ninja Turtles films this past weekend. The kids agreed that the stories were okay, but the Turtles looked weird! Tonight we will be viewing Batman vs. TMNT for the first time! I know this will ROCK!!!!

Michael Bay TMNT 1 & 2

Taking a break from TMNT movies tonight since the kids want to watch "Onward" on Disney+. The marathon will continue this weekend though with a double feature of Michael Bay's Ninja Turtles movies!

TMNT

Watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III last night and it was unanimous between me and the fam that this was our least favorite of the original trilogy. We didn't hate it, just wasn't our fave. Tonight the trilogy is continued in the criminally underrated TMNT from 2007!

TMNT 3

Watched TMNT 2: The Secret of the Ooze last night and it was outstanding as usual. Tonight we continue the original Trilogy with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III!

After watching the original 1990 TMNT movie last night with the fam, I have decided to make this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Week! Tonight we will be viewing TMNT 2: The Secret of the Ooze!

Movie-versary!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to one of the most influential movies in my life TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES! I'll be watching this tonight with the kids.

TMNT Movie Knockoffs

In my searches for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles items on ebay, I kept stumbling upon listings for Ninja Turtles 6 piece Classic Collection sets. These sets looked just like the Playmates TMNT Movie figures that were released in 1992, but the price was only around $13 for the 6 figures! Obviously these had to be knockoffs, but the quality in the pictures looked so good. Finally, out of curiosity I pulled the trigger and bought these Turtle boys from China!

 So, obviously you can see the differences in the side by side pictures. The knock off Turtles seem to only have 2 head sculpts. Raph and Don are styled after the Playmates Donatello and Mike and Leo look to be styled after the original Playmates Leonardo figure. The belts also come in two varieties Mike's and Don's. Those differences don't bother me too much, but some of the quality control issues seem common with these types of toys. You have extra plastic around the heads and the paint applications are less than perfect and they are made from hard plastic instead of the rubbery feeling stuff used to make the green teens in 1991. But one cool thing about these toys is the weapons! They are painted to look like the real thing and are not the standard brown color that came with the Playmates movie Turtles. Pretty cool, except Leo's swords are significantly warped. I'll have to figure out a way to correct that.

Master Splinter

Here is where these knockoffs get a little cray-cray! Master Splinter looks nothing like his Playmates counterpart. He looks more like a ninja raccoon with his gray fur and black coloring around his eyes. His fur is definitely not flocked and he is missing his robe. He does come with his bow and arrow though. I gotta say, I kind of like this take on the mutant master. 

Foot Soldier

Here is the rare example of how I actually think the knockoff figure improves on the original. I like the black coloring of the Foot Soldier over the gray of the Playmates version and the gray around the arms, legs and belt really pop against the dark of the body sculpt. Kind of reminds me of the Foot Ninja from the For Kids series. One not so cool thing is how they packaged him with the Foot Bopper weapon that was originally included with Movie Star Leonardo. Overall, I am pretty impressed with this set. I didn't pay all that much for it and they seem to be some of the better knockoff TMNT toys that I have seen around. Now take a look back at the commercial from 1991 promoting these awesome new toys featuring the movie likenesses of our favorite Turtle Teens!
